A Regulator Collection

Welcome to the Signal Saloon.  On this site you will view an impressive repository of automotive history. No, there's no chrome, fins, or V8's here. Not even historic Diners, Drive-In's or thoroughfares. What we've focused on is the forgotten history of the industry behind the industries made so famous. These collections house a disparate volume of signaling devices for all forms of motorized transportation. From the earliest of the 1900's to just last week no era has been left out. Over eighty years of history are here, from the early bronze era porthole days to the timeless 4-way signals and breathtaking art-deco movements to the current era utilizing plastics and LED technology. Though heavy in vehicular artifacts both pedestrian and railroad genres are represented too. The Saloon is divided into several parts.

First we have the Signals.  These are the past and present physical specimens which are on display and held in the collection.  They are Vehicular, which encompasses any that are for regulating automotive traffic. Pedestrian, meant to give some messages to people walking on public thoroughfares.  Railroad, lamps to direct trains.  Miscellaneous, other signals and related signal equipment.  Collectables, not actual signals per se, but toys, decorations, and other assorted items that represent traffic control devices.

Next up are the Spottings.  These are various signals and equipment photographed in the wild.  The category is broken down by states with major content while states with little content are all lumped in the Other Places category.
