Notes,
Commentary, Restoration:
This was one of the first signals acquired for the collection.
Not having a firm grasp on pricing, style, or value this signal was acquired on
artistic merit only. A reasonably good condition DT model Deco signal it
was purchased with a cracked green lens but arrived with broken Green and Yellow
lenses. A little glass glue fixed that right up. The red aspect came
with a faint smiley still in fine condition. While in decent shape, a few
of the latches for the doors are broken, as well as the body is anything but
straight. Apart from that it came and was quickly painted a shade of
Crouse-Hinds green. Later on, in an attempt to diversify the collection it
was repainted silver much as many of the New Jersey Decos were.
Only a simple once-over was done on this signal. A disassembly,
cleaning, and socket replacement then back on display.
