Notes, Commentary, Etc.: 
Not sure who T.U.S.&S. is, possibly an early abbreviation for The Union Switch and Signal company, one of the major providers of railroad signal equipment.  These lenses are quite crude, and if it weren't for the Kopp Glass inscription these could have been homemade.  The surfaces aren't flat, are rough, cast with many flaws, and very thin.  How they lasted this many years is a miracle. The flaw in the lens shown may either be a bug or an internal flaw.  It is hard to identify.
