Diamond Match Printers Block

MFR:  Diamond Match Division, Springfield, Mass.

Notes, Commentary:
This is a reverse-image metal plate (die) mounted on a Hardwood block.  These would have been loaded into a printing press, much like a modern age rubber stamp, and inked to print the pattern onto matchbook covers.  It's age is unknown, from the quality of the block and the "public service" message it looks like a 1950's or similar era piece.  The dapper gentleman and the prim and proper children also seem similarly dated.  The signal is no clue, it resembles a 12" head, with the dual hinges and dual wingnuts, but this is all artistic interpretation.
